Keeping with the redhead theme from my last post, portraits today are from my session Wednesday morning with Danny and his new baby brother, Nathan, (and their mom and dad were there, too ;-) at their very charming apartment in the heart of St Paul. (Hence the cathedral down the street--it's kind of hard to miss!) Danny's mom and I went to high school together back in Iowa, and both happened to end up in the Twin Cities, so it was a lot of fun to meet her family and catch up on how much life has changed. I also witnessed such amazing two-year-old boy accomplishments as turning anything and everything into either a car or a train, recognizing "two" (of anything :-), and being sent to get his sandals from his room, disappearing, and coming back with… (drumroll please)… his sandals! I'm telling you, this kid is going places! :-)
(I wanted to take this little guy home with me, he was so cuddly!)
I spent last Sunday morning taking pictures with three very sweet, mischievous kids, and I felt like a very lucky girl, to get to be there, creating photos…
And I have to get up in 3-1/2 hours, so I'll leave it at that, and let the pictures do the talking! ;-)
(not to go all misty on you, but this one totally gives me a flash-forward twenty years to her in a wedding dress, being escorted down the aisle by her daddy… ;-)
Maya K. Photography newborn portraits today courtesy of four-week-old Milo, the hungriest baby I have ever photographed ;-) (We had to stop four times in three hours cuz he was still hungry! Growing boy!) But it all worked out for the best, because I had plenty of chances to capture photos of the precious time he and his mommy spend together every day, and once he had his fill, he was out like a light, and a perfect angel to photograph. Fun fact: Milo's mom and dad are from France, and in fact he will be taking his first international flight tomorrow! I wish them all a safe flight and a wonderful trip!
This one is two photo shoots in one: a children's portrait session for little Gracen, who it just so happens turned the big "1" just a little while ago, and also a couple's photo session for her mom and dad--at the site where they got engaged, the old stone arch bridge in downtown Minneapolis. Very popular with photographers, I know, but for good reason! Not only fantastic scenery, but the geography of it makes the light both breathtaking and extremely convenient ;-) Such a great little family! And a very smiley little girl who caused no trouble at all while mommy and daddy took their turn in front of the camera--happy, content, and not afraid of anything! Here are a few photos that jumped out at me right away…
I am proud to announce that as of this weekend, I am officially moved into my little cottage in lovely Excelsior, MN. The house dates back to the 1880's, and has a lot of quirks to prove it ;-) But really it is absolutely a dream for me--bright and cheerful, tons of character, great location, and just my style! Things are getting unpacked and settling in slowly but surely (and no internet til Friday, so I'm a little hard to reach this week!), but I have already walked downtown for dinner and to the lake, and am looking forward to many, many photo shoots in this charming little town and throughout the Lakes area!!
