Kids Portraits: Three Brown-Eyed Girls

Three sisters, three pairs of beautiful brown eyes!  It was so much fun to see all their little personalities during our portrait session yesterday-- one very sweet and a little shy, one who likes to take charge and make plans, and the littlest one who's just crawling, but already knows how to fight for her personal space when necessary!  (Can't wait to see how that works out a few years down the road ;-)  …but all very helpful kids and a lot of fun.  Lovely to meet you, ladies, and mom and dad, and I hope we can do it again sometime!

Jack and Lauren ham it up for picture day

These two little cutie patooties, who I met last night, were ready and willing to 'say cheese' from the minute I stepped in the door!  In fact we had to distract them just to get a few pictures where they weren't smiling. (No complaints from me--what a good problem to have!  :-)  They were very, very busy--lots of playing to do.  And what gorgeous blue eyes…

…and this next one was quite possibly the funniest thing I've ever seen kids do from misinterpreting what I wanted them to do for a photo:  mom and dad were trying to encourage Jack to put his arms around his little sister for a big hug, and the kids were happy to oblige---sort of ;-P

They cracked me up!  But we got it right in the end.

Family portraits with lots of laughs in Excelsior

Had a fantastic family portrait session with the Hughes family a few days ago--my first photo shoot in Excelsior, Minnesota, with I'm sure many more to come because I'm moving there in less than two weeks!  (SO excited!  More on that very soon :-)  And these guys were a ton of fun, because they were exceptionally good at keeping each other laughing and MORE than willing to do so, plus their grandparents and cousin were visiting, so the whole family got to join in.  The girls were very cute and silly, and super excited to be together again--seriously, if every family had this much fun just chilling together in the park, my job would be way too easy! 

Senior Portrait Session on Lake Minnetonka

This week brought several sessions on Lake Minnetonka--first was a senior portrait session with Nick at the Lake Minnetonka Regional Park in the Mound/Minnetrista area.  This park is popular for its children's swimming area, but I loved it for senior portraits because of its wild-looking natural areas, plus a fishing pier, and as a bonus we stumbled upon a VERY old, ruined house in the woods (SO COOL!!!)  Don't tell the park rangers: we kind of hopped the fence ;-P    We also took advantage of the opportunity to get a few shots of his sister, Taylor, and the two of them together, which worked out quite nicely, don't you think?

Another adorable kid - another photobook design

The photobooks have been SUPER popular with my kids' portrait clients this summer!  Here's another photobook design for another sweet little one…

We did this photo shoot a while back to welcome baby Addison into the world, and I am told that she is growing like a weed these days, so all the more reason to remember and celebrate tiny fingers and toes!

New photo book design

Just wanted to take a moment to share with you a new photo book design that I put together last week, featuring a very sweet, spunky little girl.  I used one of my favorite design styles--highlighting a favorite image on one page, and telling the story with a set of smaller images on the opposite page…
