Chasing Wild Wyatt at grampa & gramma's house

Hello everyone--back in Minnesota, and happy to be here!  Wanted to share some photos today from a children's portrait session last weekend with a little guy named Wyatt, who gave me quite a workout!  I was forewarned that he would keep me busy, but I don't think I quite had a handle on just how busy a three-year-old boy can be when you turn him loose on several acres with a creek, trees, lots of cool toys, and lots and lots of mud.  I'm told it was quite the sight to see me running after him--literally!--across the yard with my big camera in hand.  Let's just say I feel very proud that I was actually able to get pictures of the front of him!

My sister's senior portraits on-location at Lake Michigan

Greetings from Iowa!  I'm back in my hometown after a lovely week in Michigan with my family, doing lots of lovely summertime Michigan things--laying on the beach, picking blueberries, bike rides along the lake…   :-)   …and while we were there we decided to take advantage of the lovely location for a senior portrait shoot with my sister and her best friend (though I still can't believe my little sister is going to be a senior!!!)  The advantages and disadvantages of being related to a photographer--they got the royal treatment for their senior portraits, but I drug them out of bed at 5am to catch the best beach-light of the day ;-)  They were a little cranky by the time afternoon rolled around, but I think everyone agrees that it was worth it!

Double shoot means lots of pictures!  I'd love to hear your comments--tell me which ones are your favorites…

Sunday morning portraits in Chanhassen

A new set of favorite kids portraits, brought to you courtesy of Jordan and Lauren, who had me over to play last Sunday morning.  After the rain washed out our original plans for Saturday, we hit the jackpot with a gorgeous sunny, cool day for pictures in Chanhassen.  Jordan just turned one year old recently, so give the little guy with the big, brown eyes a hand!  And Lauren (who I'm told is quite the budding photographer herself--I better watch out!) made me feel very welcome with a very descriptive and thorough tour of her house and a brand-new, original drawing.  She was even bummed when it was time for me to go, even though she had to wear a dress!  (so sweet, especially compared to what I more commonly hear an hour or so into the shoot: "no more pictures!" --which I try not to take personally ;-)
